Training investment calculator
Build a complete cost picture from your own quotes and schedule. The break-even result uses your target-pay assumption and is not a salary or employment forecast.

- Weekly earnings difference
- $320
- Illustrative break-even

Break-even divides the investment by your own pay assumptions. It does not predict job placement, starting pay, raises, taxes, or hours.
Formula
net cash cost = tuition + fees + exam + books + equipment + travel − grants − employer aid
foregone earnings = unpaid training weeks × current weekly earnings
gross investment = net cash cost + foregone earnings
break-even weeks = gross investment ÷ ((target hourly − current hourly) × hours per week)
Break-even is “not reached” when the weekly difference is zero or negative.
