The certification covers one vendor’s platform and does not authorize regulated work or guarantee a solutions-architect role. AWS recommends relevant hands-on experience, and the current exam guide—not a third-party course outline—controls scope.
Role in the pathway
Optional role-aligned credential for people designing AWS workloads; it is better used to confirm existing architecture practice than as a substitute for projects or operational experience.
Requirements to verify
- Read the current SAA-C03 target-candidate description and exam guide.
- Build hands-on practice designing and operating small AWS solutions within a cost budget.
- Review tradeoffs for secure, resilient, high-performing, and cost-optimized designs.
- Schedule and pass the current Associate exam through AWS’s delivery provider.
Fees and validity
AWS’s official exam page and certification FAQ listed Associate-level exams at USD 150 when verified. Taxes and certain local-currency prices may differ and can be updated.
AWS states on the certification page that this certification is valid for three years; current recertification options should be confirmed before expiration.
