Credential caveat

CCNA is a vendor certification, not a professional license. Passing it does not grant access to employer networks or replace authorized hands-on practice, and Cisco can revise the exam version and recertification rules.

Role in the pathway

Optional evidence of networking knowledge for support, operations, and adjacent security paths; employers still evaluate troubleshooting, documentation, and production experience.

Requirements to verify

  1. Review the current 200-301 exam version and official topic document.
  2. Practice addressing, switching, routing, services, security, and automation only in authorized labs.
  3. Use troubleshooting notes and configuration verification rather than memorizing commands alone.
  4. Schedule and pass the current CCNA examination.

Fees and validity

Cisco’s official CCNA exam page listed the 200-301 exam at USD 300 when verified. Taxes, local checkout pricing, training, practice products, and retakes are not included.

Cisco states that Associate certifications are active for three years and must meet current recertification requirements before expiration.
