Credential caveat

PV Associate is not the same credential as NABCEP’s professional PV Installation Professional certification, and neither credential overrides contractor, electrician, permit, or inspection rules where the work occurs.

Role in the pathway

Optional evidence of PV fundamentals for students and early-career workers; its value depends on the employer, training program, and jurisdiction.

Requirements to verify

  1. Choose an eligibility pathway listed in the current NABCEP Associate handbook.
  2. Complete the required education or documented experience for that pathway.
  3. Submit the application and supporting information through NABCEP’s process.
  4. Pass the PV Associate examination and follow current renewal rules.

Fees and validity

NABCEP’s official fee table listed a USD 25 application fee and USD 125 exam fee when verified. Taxes, training, re-examination, renewal, document, and any international testing charges are separate and can change.

Renewal terms and fees are controlled by the current NABCEP Associate handbook and fee schedule; verify them before registering.
